Reports that Kronic and other synthetic cannabis blends contained
phenazepam is false the ESR says - sparking allergations of Government
corruption from Kronic's maker just hours after the products were
prohibited.

"We have been played," Kronic owner Matt Bowden said.

"Our overseas analysis and ESR test results have just come back showing
that there is no contamination what so ever in Pineapple Express."

Parliament voted 104-15 to approve the ban and retailers will have
seven days to remove products from their shelves.

The Ministry of Health had earlier ordered retailers to stop selling
Kronic Pineapple Express because they said it contained the anti-anxiety
medication phenazepam.

the Kronic tested by the Ministry was either deliberatelly contaminated
or falsely claimed to contain phenazepam in the lead up to the law
change.

The Misuse of Drugs ammendment bill today also prohibited cannabis
utensils and their component parts.

Associate Health Minister Peter Dunne said the part of the bill that
"has met with the most opposition in the House is the part that amends
the drug paraphernalia provisions."

Cannabis utensils are used for harm-reduction purposes.
