Whangarei District Council’s Hikurangi office will be closing from Friday 26th August 2011.

Reduced demand has made the office in King Street, Hikurangi, uneconomic to run.

The service centre will remain open in the week leading up to the closure on 26 August at the usual weekday times of 10am to 11.30am and midday to 3pm.

For a limited period from 7 September a cashier service will be available to receive payments between 10am and 3pm on the first Wednesday of every month in Friendship House.

This service will also be available in the future for the final rates instalment day, as well as the preceding working day.

Hikurangi customers with enquiries about the closure or the payment of their rates are encouraged to contact Council by phone on 09 430 4200. Council staff can help to establish new payment facilities, such as direct debit or credit card payments.

Alternatively, customers can take their enquiries or rates payments to the Customer Service Area in Forum North, Rust Avenue, Whangarei or get further information on Council’s website at www.wdc.govt.nz .
