The Flames International hotel in Whangarei is being sold in a Financier Forced Sale.

Adam Peterson, a Tourism and Hospitality Business Broker for Tourism Properties who is acting on behalf of the vendors states "It is important for people in the market place to realise however that this is not due to poor trading performance at the Hotel site itself. The Hotel has traded successfully and profitably in the past, and continues to do so."

The reality is that the Financiers stepped in and created a mortgagee sale situation in order to protect their position, however this situation did not arise as a result of the Flames International Hotel's performance.

Mr Peterson said " The Hotel has huge potential for hands on operators. They are looking at a good trading year with significant forward bookings from RWC. Somebody is going to get a superb business in a prime location for a bargain basement price."
