Unlucky break for Galinovsky
Russian centre Igor Galinovsky has been ruled out of Rugby World Cup 2011 after sustaining an injury on the Bears' recent UK tour.
The Krasny Yar three-quarter was injured playing against Welsh club Newport on 16 August.
It was not thought to be serious enough to rule him out and he was included in the squad.
But after further assessment, doctors discovered Galinovsky had fractured his leg.
"Galinovsky's injury is more serious than originally thought," said Russian head coach Nikolay Nerush.
"Unfortunately, he will not be able to recover before the start of the Rugby World Cup."
Nerush has named 26-year-old Sergey Trishin as Galinovsky's replacement. The tall centre has scored 30 points in 35 internationals and has only recently returned from injury.
Trishin plays for Moscow regional club VVA-Podmoskovye, who now supply 14 players in the national side, the highest representation of any team at the Rugby World Cup.
