Ireland's late arrivals Gordon D'Arcy and Cian Healy both took a limited part in Ireland's first serious training run at the Queenstown Events Centre on Tuesday.

The pair arrived a few days behind the rest of the Ireland players and joined up with the squad on Monday, less than a week before Ireland's opening Rugby World Cup 2011 match against the USA.

Centre D'Arcy, who has been suffering with a tight calf muscle, received more rehab work as well as doing some light running.

Prop Healy, who suffered an eye injury in Ireland's final warm-up match against England, also had a light session with no contact allowed.

Both have been given the chance to prove their fitness and while Healy is unlikely to be fit to face the USA in New Plymouth on Sunday, 11 September, neither player has been ruled out of contention.

All Ireland's other injury doubts going into the tournament - full back Rob Kearney, flanker Sean O'Brien and skipper Brian O'Driscoll - took a full part in training without any reported problems.
