It's week Zero. On Friday night Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) kicks off with the Opening Ceremony and the first game between New Zealand and Tonga at Eden Park. Over the last six weeks New Zealand, Australia and South Africa have battled it out for the Tri Nations and the Bledisloe Cup while on Twitter and Facebook fans from around the world have been following their teams as the excitement builds towards the main event.

Over the next 6 weeks we'll be reviewing the previous week of RWC 2011 through the Social Media lens. Each Tuesday look out for the report dissecting and highlighting key analytics, trends and insights from the weeks matches.

The good news is you can play too. Simply tag your tweets #RWC2011 or tag your Facebook posts with @RugbyWorldCup and tag your Flickr photos or YouTube Videos with 'RugbyWorldCup' .

RWC 2011 is about 20 teams competing for the Webb Ellis Cup. With an estimated 95,000 fans landing in New Zealand during the tournament and millions watching around the globe, expectation and anticipation will be at fever pitch for every match.
