MARLBOROUGH

The new Blenheim-Nelson health shuttle bus service is in service and Marlborough people are urged to make use of it during its six-month trial.

The level of usage will determine whether the service becomes permanent.

The service is being funded by the Nelson Marlborough DHB and the bus departs from Wairau Hospital’s main entrance at 8.00 am five days a week. The shuttle leaves Nelson Hospital at 3.30 pm, delivering passengers back to Wairau by 5.30 pm.

There is a charge of $30 for a standard return journey. However, people who meet the criteria for patient travel assistance will not be charged. People with community services cards also travel free but they will be required to produce both their card and their appointment letter.

Patients must be going to a public hospital appointment in Nelson.

Bookings need to be made at least 12 hours ahead of travel. Ph: 0800 426 285.
