New Director Maori for Careers New Zealand

Careers New Zealand is pleased to announce the appointment of John Hurihanganui to its Te Pouarahi, Director Maori position. John’s iwi affiliations include Ngati Tahu, Ngati Whaoa, Ngati Porou and Ngati Whakaue.

John joined the Careers New Zealand team this week. Prior to this he was chief executive at Whaiora, a health and social services provider organisation, for three years, leading a team of four managers and 33 staff.

John has also worked in Director Maori roles in the Wellington region at Whitireia Polytechnic and The New Zealand Correspondence School and comes to Careers New Zealand with excellent Te Reo and Tikanga skills, having taught both in previous roles.
