Hastings i-Site is not only pointing visitors in the right direction but is also encouraging them to get a taste of the region, first hand.

The i-Site has invited a number of local gourmet food producers to bring their products indoors to give visitors and locals a treat during the Rugby World Cup.

i-Site manager Stephanie Tait says” there is so much great food which comes from Hawke’s Bay producers and we thought it would be fitting to invite a number of them in to showcase their products.”

Businesses which will be involved in the tastings include Pernel Fruitworld, Telegraph Hill Olives, Arataki Honey, St Andrews Limes and the Silky Oak Chocolate Company.

Stephanie Tait says” the tastings at the i-Site form part of the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail ‘Conga Line’ which is a self drive trip through New Zealand’s leading food and wine regions including Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa, Wellington and Marlborough. Locals are being encouraged to alert visitors to the ‘Conga Line’ so that like minded people will meet up to sample great food and wine and talk over the performance of their favourite World Cup team.”

“The ‘Conga Line’ will bring a festival atmosphere to the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail during the Rugby World Cup and the tastings at the Hastings i-Site will add another dimension to the visitor experience” Stephanie Tait says.
