New Zealand gamers get first opportunity to sample Gears of War 31

When the clock strikes midnight tonight, New Zealand fans of Gears of War 31 will be the envy of gamers all over the world.

Some EB Games stores around the country will be opening their stores at midnight, meaning Kiwi fans of the franchise will be among the very first in the world to be able to pick up a copy as the game launches worldwide on 20 September.

Xbox New Zealand’s Steven Blackburn says, “Kiwis have been avid Gears fans since the very beginning so we’re excited to deliver the third instalment – and even more excited that New Zealand gamers will be the first in the world to be able to buy it.

“We think there’ll be some sleepless nights around the country as gamers rush home to play.”

Gears of War 3 is the best pre-selling Xbox exclusive in history and is poised to become one of the top entertainment premieres of 2011.

Developed by renowned studio Epic Games exclusively for Xbox 360, Gears of War 3 is the climactic conclusion to one of the most celebrated and memorable sagas in gaming history.
