The Green Party will be launching their Green Jobs Initiative [this morning]. This is the Green Party’s economic plan to create a clean, green economy that works for everyone — a plan that will add resilience to our economy and protect our natural environment, without going further into debt.

“The current National Government’s economic approach has been to risk our clean green brand for the sake of a quick buck,” said Green Party Co-leader Dr RusseI Norman.

“Our economic plan will not only create good jobs, it will speed the transition of our economy to a low-carbon, clean technology future.”

Dr Norman will be launching the full details of this plan to create 100,000 new green jobs. Dr Norman will be joined at the launch by special guest Nick Gerritsen from the Aquaflow Bionomic Corporation Ltd.

“Global investment in clean energy will reach $800 billion by 2015. We’re planning for New Zealand to get a big piece of that action,” said Dr Norman.
