Film festival set to rock Taupō Events Centre this Saturday

Outdoors and rock climbing enthusiasts from all over New Zealand will be flocking to the Edge Indoor Rockwall at the Taupō Events Centre this Saturday 1 October for the 2011 ReelRock Film Tour featuring the best extreme climbing films from around the globe.

The ReelRock film tour kicks off at 4.00pm with complementary climbing and slack line, with the movies starting at 7.00pm sharp. Pre sale tickets are $20 each, or $25 at the door, and can purchased from the Taupō Events Centre or Outdoor Attitude on Horomatangi Street. The ticket price also includes entry into raffle prize draws.

Community Programmes Coordinator for the Rockwall, Michael Rendall, says it will be a fantastic evening and is always a great social gathering for outdoor enthusiasts from all around the country.

“We’re really excited to be hosting this international tour for the second year running. Last year we had almost 200 people, which was a great turnout for our first ever screening. It was a really great event, and everyone enjoyed the night and raved about it for weeks after."

Mr Rendall says the Events Centre is also excited to be given the opportunity to showcase its Rockwall to a wider audience. “This event attracts people from as far as Auckland and Wellington, so it’s great to be able to share our amazing climbing wall with people from outside the district.”
