More exciting news for Rhythm and Vines fans with internationals Example and DJ Wire, Skream and Benga, Erick Morillo, Architecture in Helsinki, Tiga, Danny Byrd, Jack Beats, Earl Gateshead and Jillionaire added to this year’s line-up.

Also added to the mix are Kiwi acts Zowie, Electric Wire Hustle, Zinc, Thomas Oliver Band, Dick Johnson, The Ruby Suns, Recloose (DJ Set), Pikachunes, Antix Live, Scratch 22, Aural Trash, Tim Richards, Our House, Chaos in the CBD, Nick D and Philippa.

Rounding out the R&V festival line-up for 2011 they join previously announced acts; Pendulum, Calvin Harris, Cut Copy, Grandmaster Flash, Yuksek, Netsky, Foreign Beggars, Busy P, Six60, Kids Of 88, A.Skillz, 12th Planet, David Dallas, Homebrew and Ruby Frost.

“This is it R&V fans”, says R&V founder and program director Hamish Pinkham. “Forty of the hottest international and local artists, 20,000-plus music lovers and one awesome party – it’s the only place to see in 2012.“

With a No.1 album in the UK and anthems like ‘Kickstart’ reaching 11 million hits on You Tube, Example is the latest Britrap star taking the world by storm. Knocking the Red Hot Chili Peppers and even the Beatles from the top spot just weeks ago and wowing audiences at festivals like Glastonbury and Park Life, this rapper is one to watch.

Leading lights in the UK dubstep scene, Skream and Benga are members of chart sensation Magnetic Man and producers and DJs in their own right. Friends since childhood, Benga’s work includes crafting tracks for Rihanna, Katy Perry and Eve, while Skream had the festival anthem of 2010 with his Let's Get Ravey remix of La Roux's 'In For The Kill'.

There really is very little in the music world that Erick Morillo hasn’t turned his hand to. A platinum selling artist with a bewildering array of dance tracks including ‘Reach’, ‘Believe’ and ‘I Feel Love’, Erick has remixed everyone from Whitney Houston to Basement Jaxx, and collaborated with Puff Daddy and Boy George alike.

Traversing a thin line between lush electro, indie pop and art-rock, Melbourne band Architecture in Helsinki play R&V off the back of the April release of their critically acclaimed fourth album Moment Bends and a relentless international touring schedule.

Known for his wry brand of campy electro and stark techno, Montreal-based DJ/producer Tiga’s remixes of Prince, U2 and Nelly are club specialties. While DJs Zinc, Danny Byrd, Jack Beats and Earl Gateshead from the UK and Jillionaire from Trinidad complete the international line-up.

Rounding out the local fare are artists traversing all genres from indie-pop with the addition of pop songstress Zowie, to Detroit native Recloose on the back of his newly released EP ‘The Saturday Night Manifesto’, dance DJs including Dick Johnson, Aural Trash and Tim Richards, and even the Thomas Oliver Band with their unique sound of blues, rock, country and roots.

And for some of the very best talent the future has to offer, the new Red Bull Music Academy brings a sprawling array of diversity from around the globe, including local heavyweights Electric Wire Hustle, The Ruby Suns, Scratch 22 and Nick D.

Nestled amongst the rolling hills and the vines of picturesque Wai-O-Hika Estate in Gisborne, New Zealand’s award-winning festival takes place over three days from 29-31 December.

After the success of last year’s festival and a sell-out crowd of 25,000, organizer Hamish Pinkham says ticket sales are well ahead of previous years and look set to sell out in record time. “A lot accommodation options are also nearing capacity, so we definitely recommend not leaving it too late to get sorted.”
Everything you need for a summer beach holiday with surfing, beach sports, a Bikini Jam and skate comps, BW Campgrounds at Waikanae Beach is almost full.

With only a few hundred of its 12,000 campsites left, a few sweet spots at Band Camp and Skools are left but these are expected to sell out soon.

A festival in its own right, R18 BW has its own line-up of mostly local musical talent including Katchafire, MC TIKI (Tiki Taane) & Dick 'Magik' Johnson, P-Money, Bulletproof, Tim Richards, PNC, Homebrew, and from further afield, Borgore from Israel. More BW artists will be announced in October.

Anyone wanting to enjoy the onsite location and chilled-out daytime fun for the over-20s at R&V Campgrounds should also get in quick. With all of its initial 2,000 campsites sold, another 1,500 have now been made available but they won’t last long.
