'Entry Level Gala Auction' a hit with first home buyers

Harcourts Holmwood held an Entry Level Gala Auction on Thursday evening (29th
September) at The Russley Golf Club with listings suitable for the first home buyer or
investor.
Australasian champion auctioneer Phil McGoldrick called 19 auctions in total for the night to
make up a total of 22 auctions for the franchise this week.
With each property lavished in an extensive marketing campaign aimed at the first home
buyer and/or investor it proved successful with a lot of interest from the large 70 plus
audience.
Holmwood Business Owner Tony Jenkins was thrilled to see Cantabrians finding homes and
investments to move to after all they’ve been through.
“Some of these people have been to hell and back and there was strong bidding on a number of properties with interest from 1st home buyers and investors predominantly. 8 Properties were sold under the hammer, and 2 were sold prior,” said Mr Jenkins.
“It’s very encouraging considering the market place here in Christchurch over the last 6 – 12 months.”
Auctioneer Phil McGoldrick along with the Holmwood Auction team were kept very busy in
negotiations throughout the evening.
Harcourts Holmwood further sold 3 properties by auction on the Wednesday, a total of 22
auctions for the week with a total of 13 properties sold.
