The Scotland Rugby team got a shot of adrenaline ahead of their match this weekend with a thrilling jet boat ride on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour today.
The 30-man squad and management team harnessed their pre-game anticipation with an exhilarating cruise on a high-speed boat with Auckland Jet Boat Tours.
Amidst thrills and sweeping turns the team raced under Auckland’s iconic Harbour Bridge and admired the city’s skyline from the water.
“It was a thrill to get out on the water in the sunshine – Auckland turned on a great day for us and we had a blast,” he says.
Scotland forward, Kelly Brown added that the jet boat ride was a great challenge to take-on during the team’s time in Auckland for Rugby World Cup 2011.
Getting out on the water is one of Auckland’s must-do tourism activities. Auckland is affectionately known as the City of Sails and has the highest boat ownership per capita in the world.
Adrenaline was also a factor for several Scotland players who did a Sky Jump off Auckland’s Sky Tower today. At 392 metres the Sky Tower is the tallest structure in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Scotland team will take on England in a must-win match at Auckland’s Eden Park this Saturday 1 October.
