The Ridgeline Family found in Kaikoura!

Leading outdoor clothing manufacturer, Ridgeline of New Zealand, has been hunting again – but this time it’s wasn’t for animal, bird or fish – it was for the ‘Ridgeline Family’. After a very tough competition with extremely strong candidates, Ridgeline found the family in Kaikoura, the perfect place to put to the test the $4000rrp of Ridgeline clothing they have won.

“We had been impressed with the number of photos which Ridgeline fans had been sharing on our facebook page and this gave us the idea of finding a family who could really represent the Ridgeline values of sharing time together, enjoying the great kiwi outdoors and living life to the full”, says Linda Cameron, Ridgeline Marketing Manager. “We were bowled over by the quality and dedication of the families which entered and we have made sure that the runners up have also received some clothing to test as we really appreciate the effort put in.

Of course, there has to be a winner and the Knowles / Dineen tribe pipped the others at the post with their lifestyle, community involvement and suitability to really test our gear. We are delighted to have them as part of our team and receive regular updates and reviews.”

As part of the selection process, the top 5 families voted by facebook fans had to submit an application form with reasons why they should be the Ridgeline Family, what they would use the clothing for and provide references. Their entry can be summarised as, “The Knowles / Dineen live in the South Island with the rugged snow-capped Kaikoura ranges on one side where there’s everything from a mouse to a bull thar, and the giant lunch box (the Pacific Ocean) on the other side where they catch everything from whitebait to a great white! The family are great hunter gatherers taking advantage of the great kiwi outdoors – whatever the weather. Being indoors is an exception and the family are highly involved with the local community and renowned for their dinners on beaches, rivers or locations no one knows about! If they won, they will go the extra mile – from the sports field to bush line and the odd mountain race in between!

The Ridgeline Family will be providing bi-monthly reviews on www.facebook/RidgelineofNZ for the next year and Ridgeline anticipate this to be an annual competition.
