Social Media Round-up: Week 4

Welcome to the quarter-finals! For this week's social media round up we recorded over 60,000 Tweets posted on Saturday night to discover some interesting statistics. Offline Auckland was swamped by men in kilts and Wellington was a sea of red as Tonga beat France in perhaps one of the most exciting upsets of the Tournament so far. We recorded all the action on Twitter from 4pm Saturday to 2am Sunday morning (NZ time). The matches played on Saturday night were Australia v Russia, France v Tonga and England v Scotland. So what does 60,000 tweets tagged with #RWC2011 tell us?
Since September 6 we've been tracking the total number of tweets with #RWC2011 and 'Rugby'
The last weekend of pool play certainly got everyone excited. Tweets in Week 4 exceeded Week 3. Is this a sign of things to come? Stay tuned.
