Flaxmere Waterworld indoor pool will reopen this morning (Monday October 10th) at 10am, following the completion of remedial work on the pool’s roof structure.

The building was closed two weeks ago as a precautionary measure, to address cracking in the pool’s wooden roofing beams.

Tanya Winter Group Manager – Community Facilities and Programmes for Hastings District Council says “The decision to close the facility effective immediately was the appropriate response, as safety of the public is our number one priority. We’ve now undertaken temporary strengthening work to enable the pool to reopen and will be working towards a permanent solution, “Ms Winter says.

“We’ve put a very strong focus on addressing the potential safety concerns and getting the pool reopened as quickly as possible for our community. We thank all of the facility’s users for their patience and understanding while we’ve completed this important work.”

The facility will be available for all activities, as normal.
