Wairarapa to get an All-Weather Track
Construction on the latest all weather track in the country will commence this week at the Colin Pugh Sports Bowl. It is anticipated that the Perlorus Trust eight lane, coloured blue, track will be finished by late February, early March.
The All Weather Athletic Track Trust has been raising funds for the track for the past four years.
Trust secretary Mark Harris said that the Trust had raised most of the $900,000 required to build the track, with the bulk of the funds coming in over the past two years. He said that there were about 25 tracks in the country, but Wairarapa would be one of the smallest regions to build one.
