Hollard Gardens at Kaponga is in party mood as Taranaki’s premier garden festival kicks off this weekend.

One of the early events on the Powerco Taranaki Garden Spectacular calendar is a free Market Day at Hollard Gardens on Saturday (29 October), when the emphasis will be on food, music and fun.

The gardens themselves are at their luscious spring best for the occasion.

Saturday’s Market Day runs from 9am to noon and will include:

  • Taranaki Farmers Market and local growers and crafts people with stalls selling fresh food and produce and locally made craft.
  • Live music and morris dancing.
  • Children’s activities.

The Market Day will run rain or shine.

Transport operator Kiwitours is running a return bus service from New Plymouth for the event. To book, call Kiwitours on 06 755 1525 or email kiwitours@actrix.co.nz.

The Powerco Taranaki Garden Spectacular includes free events at Hollard Gardens, Pukeiti and Tupare, the three heritage gardens owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region. The three gardens also run a programme of free public events throughout the year.
