After two successful NZ Rugby World special issues this year, Tangible Media turns its attention to the incubators of our future champions, the First XV.

The tradition of First XV Rugby runs deep in New Zealand with school communities across the country backing their sons, classmates and students. The classic matches between leading schools go back as far as the game’s origins, and ask any player about his memories of his First XV and the sense of pride will be palpable. Rugby people will tell you, both as players and spectators, that First XV games match the intensity of first class matches and often with a phenomenally impressive level of skill.

On sale in March 2012 and in partnership with the NZ Rugby Players Association, NZ Rugby World will publish a dedicated extra issue focussed exclusively on the best of New Zealand First XV Rugby. Key players, teams and coaches will be identified from 2011 and looking forward to 2012 we will make our picks of who to watch. Our award winning editorial team, led by Gregor Paul, will deliver the insights, knowledge and statistics our readers have come to expect on an area of the game that deserves this focus and that represents all that is good about our national sport.

NZ Rugby World publisher John Baker says, "This concept is both exciting and timely. We expect this special issue to grab the attention of our regular reader base in addition to the school communities that surround the teams featured. It should be a real cracker, particularly off the back of the success of the grownups recently.”

Tangible Media Advertising Sales Director Matthew Pert agrees and adds, “For brands wanting to target younger players, supporters and their families this is a must-consider opportunity. Early indicators from key advertisers have been incredibly positive and we fully expect this to become an annual feature on the NZ Rugby World calendar.”
