As part of the move by the Marlborough District Council to convert all property and resource consent paper files to electronic records, the building control section will soon be operating a full electronic building consent processing system.

From November 1, Council is asking that, where possible, all applications for building consents are lodged on disk in PDF, Word or Excel format. For the immediate future, applications should also include a paper copy of the application although that requirement for a paper copy will be discontinued soon. Council will advise when that occurs.

Where applicants do not have access to electronic systems then the lodgement of paper applications will continue to be accepted.

One of the benefits of electronic systems is that anyone will be able to view property files online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from their own computer. It will also be possible to come into Council and view files online.

Further information is available on Council's online property search pages.
