After 22 wickets fell in a single day, the Yahoo!NZ Northern Knights and Auckland Aces are both expecting a result in their Plunket Shield season opener, in progress at Whangarei's Cobham Oval.

Knights nightwatchman Trent Boult, who spent day one of the four-dayer taking his fourth first-class five-wicket bag as the ball swung and seamed in the overcast conditions, commented that yesterday was the first time in his career that he had both batted twice and bowled twice in a single day.

The Knights have moved cautiously to 25/1 this morning as they attempt to hunt down a further 239 runs in just under two days to claim the match - but with batting by no means easy.
