Gen-i and GreenButton were the big winners at the annual Microsoft New Zealand Partner Awards tonight, winning three awards each across multiple categories.

Held at the Viaduct Events Centre, the 2011 Microsoft New Zealand Partner Awards offers IT companies that design solutions on Microsoft platforms the opportunity to display their best work, raise the profile of their organisations and network with their peers.

“This night is always very special as it gives us an opportunity to recognise the fantastic work our partners develop for their clients over the year. It was very exciting to see a number of first-time entries this year, and as usual the high calibre of entries certainly made the judging process very difficult," says Chris Ichter, Director Small, Midmarket Solutions & Partners Group for Microsoft New Zealand.

"I would like to congratulate all of the winners tonight, and also take the time to thank all of our partners, who consistently develop creative and innovative solutions for New Zealand organisations.”

Twenty three awards were presented this year from four sub-categories – Solution Awards, Individual Awards, Partner Awards and Supreme Awards.

The Partners' Choice CIO of the Year winner, Matt Tucker from Les Mills was thrilled with the win.

“It is a huge honour to be recognised at the Microsoft Partner Awards and I am very grateful for Dimension Data’s nomination. The partner community represents a number of impressive, talented people and companies, so it is both flattering and humbling to be recognised as a leader within the group,” says Matt.

One company that had a great night was Gen-i, picking up three awards – Desktop Deployment Solution of the Year, Unified Communications Solution of the Year and Reseller of the Year.

"Winning three awards is a tribute to the hard work and high standards of everyone that works for Gen-i. We are thrilled with our wins and hope to continue delivering high quality, award-winning work for our customers that exceed their expectations,” says Darryn Keiller, Head of Procurement Services, Gen-i.

“We would also like to congratulate all the other winners and all the partners that entered this year – the outstanding quality is representative of the talent we have in New Zealand and is something, as a nation, that we should continue to nurture and develop. We look forward to trying to surpass this number of awards next year.”

Wellington based company GreenButton was also highly successful on the night, walking away with three awards, including Solutions Architect of the Year.

"It’s a great privilege to be named Solutions Architect of the Year, especially when I look around at the enormous amount of talent at the Partner Awards this year," says Dave Fellows, Chief Technology Officer from GreenButton.

“It’s been a great year for GreenButton and I’m very proud of the work the team has produced – no doubt 2012 will bring a lot of exciting new challenges, and we can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Provoke also won multiple awards in the Online Services Partner of the Year and Citizenship Citizenship Solution of the Year categories.
