Families, locals and visitors are invited to celebrate the start of the Christmas season in Queenstown at Remarkables Park Town Centre’s Christmas Fun Day on Saturday November 26.

An action-packed afternoon of free activities and entertainment for families will run from 11am to 3pm and include an appearance from Santa himself.

Throughout the day there will be face painting, bouncy castles and a petting zoo, hula hooping displays and a chance for the youngsters to ‘give it a go’, story time sessions and loads of spot prizes.

Live entertainment will feature a fun and enchanting free magic show at 1pm.

Remarkables Park Town Centre manager Joanna Hollander said the annual Christmas Fun Day was an extremely popular fixture on the local calendar.

“It’s a great day out for all the family, with Santa making himself available for photos and taking wishes from all kids being one of the highlights,” she said.

“For many it signals the start of the Christmas season.”

Shoppers can get some great deals on the day with Noel Leeming holding their only pre-Christmas Friends and Family Event.

The following week will also see a ‘first’ for Remarkables Park Town Centre -- Queenstown’s much-loved Santa’s Christmas Tree Grotto will be at Smiths City from Thursday December 1 until Christmas Eve.

“Everyone’s invited to come and look at the trees which have been decorated by local businesses and community groups,” said Ms Hollander.

“The trees get better and better each year as people put a huge amount of energy and time into decorating them.

“Remarkables Park Town Centre is a comprehensive Christmas shopping destination with plenty of parking, a diverse range of retail plus great food and beverage options to suit a variety of tastes.

“It’s a great place to do all your Christmas shopping.”

Remarkables Park Town Centre is open 9am to 6pm seven days a week except Christmas Day and Anzac Day (half day trading).
