The expertise behind the capacity design of the new Picton sewerage outfall and trunk sewer upgrades has been acknowledged nationally at the Water NZ Conference, the largest annual forum for those involved in the water and effluent sector.

Awards for the best paper and best presentation in the modelling section went to Marlborough District Council Services Development Engineer Stewart Sargent for his work in fine-tuning the design of the new sewage outfall and trunk sewer upgrades that will service Picton and Waikawa.

MDC Assets and Services Manager Mark Wheeler says it’s highly technical work but Stewart’s expertise has made an enormous difference to the environmental effectiveness of the new system. The awards are endorsement of the high quality work that has gone into the planning of the new facility for Picton, he says.
