All rubbish and recycling collections in the Waikato district, with the exception of Port Waikato, will take place one day later than usual over the upcoming Christmas and New Year period.

Waikato District Council is urging all Waikato district residents to check on the council’s website, www.waikatodistrict.govt.nz, to find out what day their rubbish will be collected.

With Christmas Day (25 December) and New Year’s Day (1 January) both falling on a Sunday this year, Port Waikato collections will not take place on those days but on Tuesday 27 December and Tuesday 3 January.

The rest of the Waikato district’s rubbish and recycling will be collected one day later than usual.

This means there will be no collections at all on Boxing Day (Monday 26 December) and Monday 2 January. Collections will instead take place on Tuesday 27 December and Tuesday 3 January.

Collections for Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday following Christmas and New Year’s will all be one day late.

The council’s website lists all collection dates that fall during the Christmas and New Year period, for all areas.
