Variety Ambassador Elizabeth Marvelly, Massad, Abby Lee, Variety Voices and Katie Scott and the Miss T’s are all confirmed to perform at “The Variety Hour at 5pm” on the Main stage on Saturday 21st January, 2012. The show will be MC’d by long standing Variety Ambassador Mark Wright.

Variety Ambassador Elizabeth Marvelly will perform with the Variety Voices performance group. The Kiwi songstress has enjoyed a remarkable career to date, having first taken the stage at 16 with Sir Howard Morrison. Since then, Elizabeth has performed in front of millions worldwide, including performances at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall and the Sydney Opera House. Elizabeth released her second album “Home” this year, which debuted on the Top 10 Albums Chart in New Zealand. Check out her website for more information http://www.elizabethmarvelly.com/

Variety Voices is a group scholarship opportunity for talented young people to share the joy of rehearsing and performing together at events, whether disabled or able-bodied, facing challenges or not. This is no ordinary choir – think Glee!, think Idol, think X-Factor!

Rising star Massad will perform his hit single “Tear My Heart Out”, which peaked at #2 on the Independent New Zealand singles chart. At 18, Massad is already an accomplished performer whose unique and fresh sound saw him chosen to perform to over 350,000 at the Auckland and Christchurch Christmas In The Park events in 2011. Massad will release his follow up single “Don’t forget about me” later this year. For more information go to http://www.facebook.com/massadfans

Soulful and emerging talent Abby Lee started her song writing career at the tender age of 12, and since pursuing her dream has found herself performing & writing for fellow musicians including Smashproof’s Deach, Kayo & Brooke (from Illegal Banditz). Abby has been recording and developing her sound with Producers Juse, Josh Fountain (Kidz In Space) and artist Vince Harder (who produced her first single

Steal Time’).

Abby has just released her new single ‘Set You Free’.

Local stars in the making Katie Scott & The Miss T’s round out the talented line up. Variety friend Bronwyn Turei, Sister Kayla Turei and Katie Scott will perform their unique stripped-back cabaret-pop which they are fast becoming renown for. Their gorgeous three-part harmonies and distinctive musical style saw them release their first EP this year ‘That’s The Game’ – check it out at http://katiescott.co.nz/
