Once again this summer, swimmers in Flaxmere will have the option of taking a bus to Frimley Aquatic Centre during Flaxmere Waterworld’s annual maintenance closedown.

Flaxmere Waterworld will close after Christmas and the bus service will be available, on weekdays to transport swimmers to the Frimley Aquatic Centre.

Group Manager Community Services and Facilities Tanya Winter says “The annual maintenance programme is carried out at this time of the year, due to lower than usual use of the pool. The major users of Flaxmere Waterworld are lane swimmers, schools and learn to swim classes and these groups don’t use the facility quite as much over the Christmas-New Year period.”

“Council will provide the bus service to ensure that those who want to swim are not disadvantaged by the closure,” Tanya Winter says. “The only cost to swimmers will be the $2 entry to Frimley Pool.”

The service will operate from Wednesday December 28th until Friday January 27th. The bus departs Flaxmere Waterworld for the Frimley Aquatic Centre at 10am Monday to Friday and returns at 3pm.
