The HRV Cup Twenty20 is headed to the Queenstown Events Centre with the Otago Volts set to take on the Wellington Firebirds at 2pm on New Year’s Eve.

This fixture will be a fantastic opportunity for holiday makers and locals to see some of the biggest names in the game. The BLACKCAPS are available for both sides with the likes of the McCullum brothers, Ian Butler and Neil Broom turning out for Otago while Jesse Ryder, James Franklin and Grant Elliot are all members of the Wellington squad.

In addition to our own BLACKCAPS both teams have overseas imports with Dimitri Mascarenhas (England) for the Volts and Muttiah Muralitharan (Sri Lanka) and Brendon Taylor (Zimbabwe) for Wellington.

There will be something for everyone at the ground with plenty of food and refreshments available and entertainment including bouncy castles for the kids. Beer and wine will both be available at reasonable prices and bringing alcohol into the venue is not permitted. Intoxicated patrons will not be allowed into the venue with Otago Cricket and local authorities committed to running a responsible family friendly event to kick start the New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own deck chair, pack a picnic and enjoy a good old fashioned Kiwi summer’s day at the cricket. Free car parking is available on site at the Queenstown Events Centre.

Tickets are available at a discounted rate online through Ticketek, gate prices Adult $20, Child $5 and Family $45 (2 Adult & 2 Children).
