Motorists are advised that delays can be expected on the Crown Range and Cardrona Valley Road from Monday 9 January when road rehabilitation works recommence.

Work will take start adjacent to Chain Bay 5 on the Queenstown side of the Crown Range and at two sites on the Cardrona Valley Road on either side of Cardrona Township. Drivers can expect 5 minute delays at each site but while potentially there could be a total delay of 15 minutes, traffic will be managed across all sites to ensure this happens as little as possible. There are two other sites on the Wanaka side of the Crown Range that will also be completed during the course of the project.

Queenstown Lakes District Council project manager Rob Darby said delays would be kept as short as possible but advised that people should add extra travel time to their journey.

This year’s programme of road rehabilitation works on the Crown Range and Cardrona Valley Road is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of April.
