TAURANGA

There have been no significant changes to the status of the vessel overnight

  • Salvage and spill response experts are undertaking observation flights this morning to gather more information about the vessel’s condition and status of the container debris field and any oil that has been lost from the ship
  • Contractors will be resuming work today and teams will respond to any reports of debris or oil that has come ashore once confirmed via aerial observation
  • A more detailed media update will be provided around 11am today
  • There will be a 3pm press conference today at the Tauranga Boys College Auditorium, 664 Cameron Rd, Tauranga.
