Ross Allen’s Royal Commemoratives is the latest edition in Rotorua Museum's Collectors in the Community series.

Like most people in England during the 1950s, Ross Allen’s family had a standard 1953 Queen Elizabeth II Coronation mug sitting proudly on the mantelpiece. As a child he was fascinated by them and his grandmother would give him samples from her collection of mugs.

Since then Ross Allen has added many new pieces to his collection and Rotorua Museum is delighted to have some of his favourites on display.

From coronation mugs to royal plates, this exhibition represents some of the significant milestones of British royal history.

The new exhibition is on display at Rotorua Museum until 7 March.

Entry to the exhibition is included with admission to Rotorua Museum, which is free for Rotorua residents with proof of residency.
