Tim Edgell is hoping the hard work put into the Chesters Falcon between rounds will pay off this weekend as his team heads to the world’s southern most circuit for Round Three of the BNT NZV8 Championship at Teretonga near Invercargill.

“Between rounds the team has put a lot of hours into the car,” said Edgell.

“Part of that has been about making sure the car is reliable, but in a championship this close we have to make sure we’re constantly improving the car - and I think we’ve found a couple of things that should help us this weekend.”

The Auckland based driver is looking forward to the fast flowing Teretonga circuit and hopes the forecast heavy rain for Invercargill doesn’t eventuate.

“Teretonga is an awesome track, you’ve got to be brave to turn a quick lap and there’s no room for error. With the way the Championship battle is, it’s going to be a hard fight. I just hope there’s some fine weather for the fans, because I know the racing is going to be intense.”

The #26 Chesters Ford Falcon currently sits in third position in the BNT NZV8 Championship, less than 100 points back from championship leader Angus Fogg. With two race wins from the six races contested so far this season, Edgell looks forward to increasing the pressure on the other championship contenders with both consistency and speed.

“We know we have the pace, we’ve proved that with race wins at Pukekohe and Ruapuna,” says Edgell.
“We’ve just got to go out there and drive the wheels off the Chesters Falcon and put the pressure on Foggy and Bargs to match us.”
