New Zealand film makers have an opportunity to work on projects with one of the fastest growing screen industry’s in the world.

Manager Film Auckland, Michael Brook says the China Film Co-production Corporation has issued an invitation for all NZ film makers to pitch their film projects by 9 March.

“Selected projects will be announced on March 23, and the successful film makers will attend the pitch-and-catch process at a Forum during the Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) in April.

“Late last year Film Auckland hosted the Asia Pacific Producers Network Symposium which was another major step in our work in developing relationships in growth markets.

“China is looking to make more products for Western markets and is actively sourcing new production partners. This provides our film makers access to one of the world’s fastest growing box offices.

“There is a lot of enthusiasm for co-producing films, and this is beneficial to both countries,” says Mr Brook.
