NZC launches video highlights for domestic cricket

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has boosted its online offering with the introduction of video highlights for all domestic cricket matches.

International video highlights have been offered since 2005 and the new domestic initiative has been launched with the highlights all Ford Trophy preliminary finals, including yesterday’s match between the Auckland Aces and Otago Volts.

For matches that are show on SKY TV a full clip is available while all other matches use the fixed point video analyse footage and in most cases the content will be available within 24 hours.

The video highlights are fronted by an interactive scorecard where registered visitors can click a link to view a replay of every wicket, boundary and six.

“Video highlights are a great addition to the coverage of domestic cricket,” said NZC CEO David White.

“NZC has gathered video analysis footage for a long time and we are thrilled that the development is now in place to enable us to share it with the public.

“Along with exclusive live scoring of all matches, detailed match reports and the new partnership with Radio Sport to provide full commentary online for the remaining rounds of Plunket Shield, there is wealth of content online for domestic cricket fans.”

All remaining Ford Trophy and Plunket Shield matches will be available with video highlights accessed from the domestic cricket schedules page. New visitors need to complete an online registration form to access the video highlights.
