QUEENSTOWN

Queenstown's premier lakefront hotel is ‘sharing the love’ over the coming months with a Locals Special Romance package no cupid could resist.

Eichardt’s Private Hotel is opening its doors to its super-luxury Mountain View suites at a ‘heavenly’ reduced price so Central Otago and Southland locals can treat their loved one to a night of stylish elegance in this iconic historic property.

General Manager Chris McIntosh said “any excuse would do” for locals to spoil their loved one, which was why the locals package was on offer until the end of May 2012.

“While romance is in the air it’s a perfect opportunity for locals to think about what they have to celebrate over the next few months,” he said.

“Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary or perhaps a knee bending proposal, we want people to come and enjoy everything special that Eichardt’s has to offer and make that occasion unforgettable.”

To set the romantic mood throughout February, Mr McIntosh said everyone was welcome to indulge in a two or three-course special ‘Month of Romance’ lunch menu delivered by talented Executive Chef Gwen Harvie.

“Gwen has sourced some of the finest ingredients the South Island has to offer and put together a stunning menu that includes a glass of bubbles for each guest,” he said.

West Coast whitebait, Hereford beef fillet, John Dory and Strawberry and Champagne granita with a white chocolate mousse are just some of the delicious treats available.

The stunning property added to its many accolades last month when high-end influential UK magazine Tatler named Queenstown’s Eichardt’s Private Hotel one of the world’s best hotels in its highly coveted annual travel guide.

The Times newspaper of London has also named the Eichardt’s Bar one of the ‘Top ten bars In the world with a view’.

Eichardt’s Private hotel was acquired by the Imperium Capital Group in 2010, privately owned by Andrew and Sarah Cox.

The Locals Special Romance Package* is available to all residents of Central Otago and Southland. One night for two in a luxury Mountain View suite is available at the special price of just $600 per night (normally $1639), and is valid for stays to June 1 2012. This amazing package includes all the trimmings -- a full breakfast, valet parking, wi-fi internet, and evening turndown with handmade chocolates. *Proof of residency will be required at the time of booking.

The Month of Romance lunch menu is available any day during February from 12 noon to 3pm. Guests can choose two courses for $40 per person or three courses for $50 per person. Each guest enjoying the menu will receive a complimentary glass of bubbles.

Reservations for accommodation bookings are essential by calling Eichardt’s Private Hotel and quoting the Locals Special, or going online at www.eichardts.com.
