Moore Gets Mobile At Hampton

Christchurch based Uni student Richard Moore will step into the arena as one of the youngest new stars in what is shaping up to be the motorsport event of the year when his virgin “Skinny Mobile” V8 SuperTourer hits the track for the first time at Hampton Downs on February 17th.

Understudy to team-mates Greg Murphy and Paul Manuell in the new M3 Racing team, Moore is raring to go: “I can’t wait to get amongst it, the M3 guys have been working day and night to get the teams cars absolutely perfect and the crowds are going to be blown away when we hit the track”.

Also getting amongst it is Moore’s key supporter, Skinny Mobile, whose team is stoked to be following Moore and supporting a young guy taking on the establishment. Skinny are right in behind him and have tagged his car on the skinny with a sweet paint job that will ensure people see Moore coming: “We are really excited to be giving our support to an up and coming star of the motorsport world and to be a part of his adventure, both on the track and as a student at Canterbury University” commented Paul O'Shannessey, CEO of Skinny Mobile. He added, “Skinny’s family are a bunch of major petrolheads so it’s really exiting for the crew to be following Richard on his journey and rooting for his success”.

The new V8 SuperTourer series is bold and long overdue shift for New Zealand motorsport, delivering cars that are virtually identical to the Australasian V8 Supercars. The series has attracted a raft of seasoned campaigners the likes of Murphy, Baird, McIntyre and Steven Richards along with an aggressive young bunch including Christchurch based Moore

Moore will be joining no less than sixteen cars on the grid when the new series gets underway over the weekend of 17 - 19 February. Seven rounds are scheduled, including the series debut at Hampton Downs in February, with a mixture of sprint and endurance races before the series concludes in October 2012.
