The current edition of H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers has been in high demand and Rotorua District Council (RDC) is now seeking more additions for next season’s May - November 2012 brochure.

H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers aims to get local ‘soon-to-be-seniors’ involved in hobbies, interests and passions, hence the term ‘H.I.P’ in the brochure title.

RDC community services officer Carole Parker says the latest brochure sets the bar high for future publications with many people participating in activities on offer.

“That edition has been a resounding success with a 40% increase in new activities and events listed than in the previous publication. It covers a wide range of activities and events, including hobbies, fairs and markets, recreational activities, volunteering opportunities, social networking and crafts, to enrich and challenge people’s lives.

“We’re encouraging local clubs, groups and organisations to submit their events and activities for this popular brochure which will showcase opportunities available to residents transitioning into retirement.”

The deadline to submit events for the May – November issue is Friday 9 March, and people can do so by sending an email to mail@rdc.govt.nz requesting a HIP submission form.

Copies of the current issue of H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers are available from Rotorua District Council’s Customer Centre, various retail and community organisations, and online from the council website rdc.govt.nz by clicking here
