Strong demand for tickets to The Great Kiwi Beer Festival being held in Hagley Park on 25 February has forced the release of a further 2000 tickets.

Team Event director Callam Mitchell confirms 2000 more general admission tickets have been made available. “We’re thrilled with the response from Cantabrians to this premier beer connoisseur’s festival.”

“We’ve finalised the line up of speakers for the Beer Appreciation Seminars. It includes two people whose surnames are synonymous with brewing in New Zealand, Richard Emerson and Emma McCashin. They’ll join others including The Press beer columnist Carl Hadler.”

The Great Kiwi Beer Festival will also feature beer food matching seminars from the likes of Johnny Schwass from Gorilla Bar, Andrew Brown from Burgers and Beers, and Nick Mavromatis from the Mediterranean Food Café & Store.

More than 100 brews on offer give festival goers the rare opportunity to sample in one place some of the most innovative and enjoyable beers on the market. Confirmed exhibiting breweries include Tuatara, Moa, Old Mout Cider, Mike’s Organic Brewery, Epic, Wigram Brewing Company and Yeastie Boys.

The festival atmosphere will be completed with live music performances from The Black Seeds, AHoriBuzz, The Nudge, The Unfaithful Ways and DJ’s Nacoa and Seth Hamilton.

Security will be on hand to ensure the festival is a family friendly event for all Cantabrians. Intoxicated persons will not be served and will be removed from the premises.

Tickets to The Great Kiwi Beer Festival are for sale with Eventfinder for $29.50. Visit www.greatkiwibeerfestival.co.nz or The Great Kiwi Beer Festival Facebook page for more information and announcements.

Editor’s notes:

The Great Kiwi Beer Festival is run by Team Event and is its second independently organised and privately funded festival in Christchurch. Team Event recently delivered the successful New World Wine & Food Festival in December (rated by NZ’s top wine judge Bob Campbell as “the most enjoyable event of its type that I've ever experienced”) and is committed to revitalising Christchurch’s festival scene.
