Travellers who are eco conscious or simply have a love of the great outdoors, can now sign up to help keep New Zealand beautiful with a new trip from Kiwi Experience, New Zealand’s legendary hop-on, hop-off ‘green’ bus adventure company.

As part of a Conservation Volunteers project, called ‘Green Not Mean’, travellers will be rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty with Kiwi Experience in Punakaiki, on the spectacular West Coast of the South Island. Kiwi Experience adventurers are invited to spend either four or six days in this stunning location helping plant trees, collect seeds, and remove pesky weeds, all to help create an ecological corridor spanning from the majestic southern alps to the rugged west coast beaches.

“Green Not Mean is a great way to experience the beautiful New Zealand environment up close and personal,” says Kiwi Experience Brand Manager Liz Lindsay.

“It’s also a terrific way to make new friends while creating some incredible memories, and help restore a part of our West Coast paradise.”

Perched on the edge of the Southern Alps, Punakaiki encompasses spectacular limestone landscapes, river gorges, caves, coastal and inland walks and the world renowned Pancake Rocks and blowholes. The coastline is the natural habitat of the Little Blue Penguin and the only nesting ground of the Westland Black Petrel, while nearby forests bear Nikau palms and Rata trees that are hundreds of years old.

Kiwi Experience travellers can be part of restoring this wondrous part of the world, as they travel around New Zealand. A ‘Green Not Mean’ pack includes transfers from the Punakaiki Visitor Centre, accommodation at the Conservation Volunteers project, and all meals for only $320 for four days or $475 for six days.

Conservation Volunteers is a non-profit organisation that recruits and manages teams of volunteers from New Zealand, Australia and around the world to work on important environmental and wildlife conservation projects. This is your chance to get involved!

Kiwi Experience is now taking bookings for this awesome experience but be sure to get in quick to secure your place in the project.
