WELLINGTON CITY

Symantec today announced the appointment of Lucas Salter as the new country manager for Symantec's enterprise business in New Zealand, effective 1 April 2012. A Symantec veteran of five years, Salter has more than 15 years of IT industry experience and a proven track record in direct and channel sales, customer service and account management. Prior to his new role, Salter was the territory account manager for Western Australia and helped drive the success of the Western Australian business. Over the years he has held sales and channel roles at Symantec, Data#3 Limited and CYBEC Pty Ltd.

As the country manager for New Zealand, Salter will hold the responsibility of managing the day to day operations for Symantec's New Zealand Enterprise business including sales, channels, distribution and systems engineering. He will be responsible for leading the New Zealand team across both Auckland and Wellington and will be relocating with his family to Auckland over the coming weeks.

"We're creating a senior management role in New Zealand to better meet the needs of our enterprise, SMB and government customers," said Craig Scroggie, vice president & managing director, Pacific Region, Symantec. "New Zealand continues to be an important market for Symantec and we're confident that the wealth of sales and channel knowledge Lucas brings to this role will help to make Symantec an even greater strategic vendor with our channel partners and customers in this region."

Stuart Preston, previously the national sales manager for Symantec in New Zealand, will remain with Symantec as a Wellington-based account director. He is a valued member of the Symantec team and continues to work with Wellington based customers in this position.

"Wellington, and the public sector, is a significant market for our New Zealand business, and Stuart's new position enables him to focus on this key location," added Scroggie.
