Canterbury Uni student Richard Moore will step into his “Skinny Mobile” V8 SuperTourer for just the second time ever this Easter at the Powerbuilt Raceway when all 16 V8 SuperTourers take to the track for the first time in the South Island.

Understudy to team-mates Greg Murphy and Paul Manuell in the new M3 Racing team, Moore is raring to go: “I can’t wait to get amongst it, the M3 guys have been working day and night to get the team's cars absolutely perfect again after round one and the crowds are going to be blown away when we hit the track”.

Also getting amongst it is Moore’s key supporter, Skinny Mobile, whose team were stoked to see Moore post such a great result in the inaugural round, qualifying just six tenths off pole at Hampton Downs and ahead of last year's champion John McIntyre.  Not bad for a student Living Skinny in Christchurch.

Paul O'Shannessey, CEO of Skinny Mobile, commented that: “Skinny are behind Richard 100%, it’s great to see a driver so young going up against a field made up entirely of professional race drivers from around the world!”

The Skinny crew are gearing up to make the trip down to Moore’s university stomping ground for the second
round and can’t wait to get amongst the youth in Christchurch wanting to get out there and support one of their own.

So is twenty year-old Richard Moore fazed by his big-time competition? “The best thing is the cars are identical: the same chassis, the same engine, the same gearbox. The biggest improvement in performance has to come from me," he explained.

"The M3 team has given Paul Manuell, Greg Murphy and myself truly fantastic cars, I just have to get to grips with a very unique and incredibly powerful piece of machinery.”

The 575 horsepower cars are capable of 275 kph and are set to turn Ruapuna’s Powerbuilt Raceway alight this Easter.  Open scrutineering is planned for Bush Inn Mall on Riccarton Road on Good Friday with a special driver signing session to be held from 1 to 1.30 pm at the same venue. "It'll be a great chance for Cantabrians to get up close and personal with drivers and these state-of-the-art cars," added Moore.

Expect to see Moore flanked by the Skinny crew as they show their support and create some hype around his success. Moore will be part of a sixteen car grid during the race weekend of April 7th and 8th. Tickets for the event are available through Eventfinder.
