Odlin leads strong SUBWAY® Pro Cycling line up for GrapeRide
Newly crowned Oceania elite road racing champion Paul Odlin leads a strong SUBWAY® Pro Cycling line up for this weekend’s 101 kilometre Forrest GrapeRide in Marlborough.
Odlin is keen to defend the elite GrapeRide title he won beating his team mate Sam Horgan into second place last year.
Horgan and Odlin both come off a very successful campaign at last week’s Oceania Road Cycling Championships where Horgan narrowly beat Odlin in the time trial two days before Odlin’s triumph in the road race.
GrapeRide Event Organiser Pete Halligan said he is excited to see many of the country’s top riders racing on Saturday and pleased to see the bulk of the SUBWAY® Pro Cycling entered.
“It’s a course where a team like SUBWAY® Pro Cycling can maximise their skills. Generally they tend to win it and always say afterwards how much they love coming to the event and riding the course.”
Joining Odlin and Horgan for GrapeRide are Dillion Bennett, Matt Gorter, Nick Lovegrove and Tayla Harrison, who was named this week in the New Zealand Team the Junior World Track Cycling Championships being held in Invercargill in August.
The SUBWAY® Pro Cycling riders are also racing in the following day’s Elite Racing Series (formally the Benchmark Series) also held in Marlborough, as the team continues to build up for the Tour de Korea in late April.
