The documentary Inside Outward Bound: The New Zealand Journey, celebrating 50 years of the iconic organisation, will premiere in Wellington on Thursday 19 April, 7pm at Park Road Post Production in Miramar.

Outward Bound Chief Executive Officer, Trevor Taylor, said the documentary presents a raw and honest portrayal of the journey of self-discovery and realisation that over 50,000 New Zealanders have undertaken at Outward Bound.

Inside Outward Bound explores one of the greatest questions facing youth today: ‘How can I reach my full potential?’”

“Outward Bound students often describe their experience at Anakiwa as ‘life-changing. This documentary explores how kiwis can unlock their own potential and access the tools they need to ensure a successful and productive future.

The film, shot on location at Anakiwa in the Marlborough Sounds, will provide viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at the daily triumphs and struggles that take place on an Outward Bound course.

Inside Outward Bound also features interviews with well known New Zealanders and Outward Bound alumni including:  former All Black Gary Whetton, adventurer Mark Inglis, actor Sara Wiseman and TV presenter Kelly Swanson-Roe.

In a rare look inside the lives of these well-known kiwis, viewers will hear first-hand accounts of the pivotal and sometimes life-changing experiences they had during their time at Outward Bound.

Directed by award-winning documentary-maker, Pietra Brettkelly, Inside Outward Bound will screen at various locations around the country. Regional premieres of the documentary organised by Outward Bound will be held over the next few months.  Dates of the regional premieres and more information can be found at www.outwardbound.co.nz
