BLENHEIM

The Cat in the Hat is bound to be there – and you might spot the Queen of Hearts. Harry Potter is a cert. Who knows who else might be at the Marlborough District Library on Saturday afternoon, on 12 May?

The second week of May is festival week celebrating New Zealand Post Children's Book Awards and, as part of the celebrations in Blenheim, the “Great Book Character Hunt” is being held at our library.

There’s two hours of fun for primary-aged children inside the library, with spot prizes and a sausage sizzle on the library lawn.

The NZ Post Children’s Book Awards are to reward excellence in children's literature, recognising the best books for children and teenagers published annually in New Zealand.

The library will close at 1.00 pm on Saturday 12 May and re-open for the Great Book Character Hunt from 1.30 pm-3.30 pm.
