Samsung Lifts the Lid on New GALAXY S III Smartphone
Effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, the new Samsung GALAXY S III aims to redefine ‘smart’
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, has today unveiled details of the much-anticipated third generation GALAXY S smartphone – the GALAXY S III– at a global launch event in London.
Based on the concept of natural interaction, the new GALAXY S III is designed to provide an intuitive smartphone experience combining innovative technology – such as face and motion recognition – and smart design to create a must-have smartphone device.
Stefan Lecchi, Head of Telecommunications for Samsung New Zealand, hopes the GALAXY S III will set a new benchmark in Samsung smartphone technology and design.
“With the GALAXY S III, Samsung has added a different layer to the smartphone experience – through both its exceptional hardware and its intuitive usability,” he says.
“This device doesn’t just look sleek; it has been created to be effortlessly smart and intuitively simple – something that smartphone users everywhere desire. The new GALAXY S III seeks to deliver an innovative and stylish design offering a highly personalised mobile experience.”
Designed with natural interaction in mind, the GALAXY S III is smart enough to recognise your face, voice and actions and adapt itself to provide an individualised and natural user experience.
For example, the GALAXY S III can understand certain movements to provide an intuitive user experience. If you are messaging someone but decide to call instead, simply lift your phone to your ear and the ‘Direct Call’ feature can automatically dial the number for you. With ‘Smart Alert,’ the GALAXY S III can alert you to missed messages or calls by vibrating when the phone is picked up after being idle.
Users can also easily view content thanks to the device’s 4.8 inch HD Super AMOLED display. An 8MP camera and a 1.9MP front camera also give users a variety of intelligent camera features and face recognition-related options to ensure moments can be captured easily and shared rapidly.
