Rates: Final day on Friday

THE last day for payment of the third and final instalment of the Manawatu District Council’s 2011/12 rates is Friday, May 18. A 10 percent penalty will apply to the outstanding balance of the instalment unless a prior direct debit arrangement has been made with council. Anyone paying by automatic payment is urged to ensure their payments are sufficient to clear the remaining balance due by Friday.

Library sale realises good return

A TOTAL of $5020 was raised at the Feilding Public Library’s 13th annual book sale last week when more than 4000 publications went on offer to eager buyers searching for their favourite authors and subjects. Only a few unwanted titles remained at the end of the six-day sale. The money raised will be used to purchase new stock.

Funding requests to be considered
