New Zealand’s biggest New Year music festival, Rhythm and Vines is set to be the party of a decade after selling a festival record breaking ten thousand tickets, in just over ten hours for their ten year birthday celebration this December.

R & V launched its first ‘pre-sales’  yesterday morning, but was forced to temporarily go offline after a technical glitch meant some customers weren’t receiving their purchase confirmation. By the time the problem was resolved, demand for tickets was so high the system struggled to cope with the volume of sales, “we are absolutely gutted that technology temporarily failed us and some of our customers had problems with their transaction. We can assure you that anyone who has had money taken out of their account, WILL be joining us at Rhythm and Vines,” says Peter Hall, Head of Sales and Marketing.

R & V’s ticketing system is back up and running with three day passes now on general release, “we sold more than a thousand tickets by 10 am this morning (May 23rd). We are stoked that everyone is as excited about our ten year birthday as we are,” says Mr Hall.

Rhythm and Vines has gone from being a small gathering for a group of university mates to one of New Zealand’s most popular festivals. Over the years Waiohika Estate in Gisborne has hosted some of music’s biggest names including Pendulum, Calvin Harris, N.E.R.D. Public Enemy and Moby.

To mark ten years of delivering a world class event to more than one hundred and fifty thousand people, R& V organizers are promising a three day festival experience on a whole new level and the party atmosphere throughout Gisborne will be electric during the festival.. There’s a focus on expanded and improved onsite camping offerings, including ‘glamping’ (glamour camping), a VIP priority system and a refreshed version of last year’s big success, the Tepee Village. And as always there will be a stellar line up, “we are currently finalizing acts to help us celebrate this milestone. We are seeking out the best in New Zealand and international music for our loyal fans,” says Mr Hall.

Rhythm and Vines will run from December 29-31st at Waiohika Estate, Gisborne. For tickets please go to www.rhythmandvines.co.nz
