Seafood packer MMP International is the latest tuna processor to become a participant in the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation, a coalition of industry, leading scientists and WWF, the world’s leading conservation organization, to improve tuna sustainability efforts around the world.

“The addition of MMP International will add great value to our sustainability efforts by increasing the effectiveness of our advocacy and direct action efforts,” ISSF President Susan Jackson said. “Our scientific mission to improve fisheries everywhere is only as strong as our collective partnership, and we are encouraged by our continued growth.”

MMP International Co., Ltd. is based in Samutsakorn, Thailand and was founded 20 years ago as a tuna canner. Today the company produces a range of seafood products.

ISSF Participating Companies work with the Foundation to advocate for improved fishing methods, fund advances in scientific understanding and take direct action to spur change. MMP International has committed to the purposes and standards of the organization and met all the requirements for participation, backed by an independent company audit.

ISSF launched in 2009 with eight Participating Companies and today has twenty industry partners with well-known brands produced and sold in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Pacific Islands and Asia.
